 I like when I get a comment on an older blog too. I often say in an email if I am introducing myself for someone to read my blogs, old and new.. They do give a vision to who/what we are.

 It is a very pleasant and unfortunately rare surprise to receive a comment on an old post. I think most are reluctant to comment on older posts even if they are new to the blog. Wonder how to encourage old post comments besides always answering them.

I always behave. Preferably not well.

 I too am not only pleasantly surprised but honoured when someone comments on an old posting/blog. Alas however they are very far and few between. It seems it only happens to me when either a 'new' viewer discovers my blog, or one of my regulars goes back to reminisce and like to express an appreciation for how that particular post moves them.

I have been deleting old posts regularly of late as if I didn't, I'd have over 200 pages of blogs and I know that nobody is ever going to take the time nor effort to read a few thousand posts.
