Question for the guys

I'm curious. Well I mean I'm curious to hear from guys who were curious and did something about it. How did you decide? Did you know the other guy, or was it a stranger? What was it that made you take the plunge?
I'd really like to hear comments as well, don't just vote.
I'd like to take the plunge myself but I keep chickening out, or at least not pursuing it enough.

I had a friend. We talked. We did it.
I met someone online, got to know him and got comfortable.

Everybody had a first time. But there can be differences in who we shared that with. So I want to know how experienced your partner was.
First 3 questions are for the Females to answer. Second set of 3 is for the Males to answer.
